New Lenox welcomes more retailers

Updated: October 15, 2013 10:55AM

A Petco and two clothing stores — T.J. Maxx and Ross Dress for Less — will join Walmart in the New Lenox Town Center, in the 500 block of East Lincoln Highway, Development Director Nancy Hoehn announced Monday at the village board meeting.

“Things are really heating up on Route 30,” she said.

Building and zoning administrator Warren Rendleman said the businesses will open around next summer.

“They want to get it under roof so they can work through the winter,” Hoehn said.

The board also approved a site plan for Pep Boys in the New Lenox Town Center. It would have a six-car bay.

About two miles to the east along U.S. 30, LA Fitness is to anchor a development on the north side of the road between Vancina Lane and Garfield Avenue.
