Lincoln-Way Central High School Associate Principal Thomas Denny tendered his resignation to the board of education Thursday, days after he was charged with two counts of domestic battery by Manhattan police, according to officials.
Board president Arvid Johnson said Denny did not give a reason for his resignation, which was presented to the board for the first time at Thursday’s board meeting.
According to Will County court records Denny, 38, of 16264 W. Carlow Circle, Manhattan, was charged with domestic battery, a misdemeanor, on Oct. 21, posted bond and was released.
His next court date is Nov. 18.
“I have a lot of respect for all our administrators. They do a great job and are highly motivated. He was part of that team,” Johnson said.
