Summit Hill School District 161 will hold its 2014-15 kindergarten registration drive from 4 to 7 p.m. Feb. 4 and 5 at Rogus School, 20027 S. 88th Ave., Frankfort.
To review the checklist of documents needed for registration, parents should visit www.summithill.org, according to a press release from the district.
Parents can enroll their kindergartner in the extended day program (8:45 a.m. to 2:15 p.m.) or the half-day program (8:45 to 11:15 a.m.). The registration fee is to be determined. Payment options are available.
Parents will need to present an official birth certificate (with certification seal from the county). Students must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2014. If applicable, proof of legal custody would include presentation of a court order or decree for legal guardianship, proof of legal custody through public aid documents, or proof of foster care.
To prove residency, one document must be provided from Category 1 (below) and two documents from Category 2.
Category 1 includes the most recent property tax bill showing a parent as the taxpayer, mortgage papers or a mortgage coupon book, closing papers for a closing that has occurred before registration, or for renters, a signed, dated and notarized lease agreement and proof of last month’s payment, or for military personnel, a housing letter.
If the parent is not the homeowner, the owner of the property and the parent must prove residency by providing one document from Category 1 and two documents from Category 2.
Category 2 includes most recent utility bills or official start notices, a current driver’s license or state ID, current vehicle registration, current homeowners/renters insurance policy and/or a current public aid card.
Upon completion of residency verification, parents will be given a username and password to access the online registration form. Parents can pay the registration fee online via a credit or debit card.
