Consulting firm part of Day of Service

The Sargent Consulting Group LLC recently participated in the Illinois CPA Society’s second annual CPA Day of Service.

The event was started last year in response to the growing needs of social service agencies and nonprofit organizations in an uncertain economy.

As part of this effort, all five employees from the group spent the day volunteering at the Frankfort Food Pantry. The Sargent Consulting Group ran a weeklong food drive in its office complex and bought additional items of need for the pantry.

Employees also served lunch to senior citizens and helped run the weekly bingo game. In one afternoon, the employees were able to help stock the shelves, serve lunch, socialize and form friendships with local seniors.

“In this age of ‘team-building exercises,’ I know of no better way to bring a team together than doing something positive and productive for the community,” said Brad Sargent, the group’s managing member. “Closing shop for one day to participate in the lives of others, as a team, was well worth it.”
