MOKENA

Forest preserve to host owl program

The Forest Preserve District of Will County will host “Sounds of the Night: Owls” at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Environmental Learning Center, 20851 S. Briarwood Lane, Mokena.

Participants will walk through the twilight as they listen for the distinctive calls of owls. Participants should dress for the weather, and registration is required.

CHICAGO

Marist to hold entrance exam

Marist High School, 4200 W. 115th St., Chicago, will hold its entrance exam at 8 a.m. Saturday. Students should bring two No. 2 pencils, but not a calculator.

Steel retirees to meet

The Republic Steel Retirees will meet at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 19 at Steve’s Lounge, 13200 Baltimore Ave., Chicago.

The evening will begin with a social hour, followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. The cost is $15 for members and $18 for guests.

STEGER

Library to hold D&D tournament

Steger-South Chicago Heights Public Library, 54 E. 31st, St., Steger, will host a Dungeons and Dragons tournament for teenagers from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Jan. 19.

Participants will be able to create their own characters and embark on a sprawling journey using the popular fantasy game. No experience is necessary.

Sports Cards and Collectibles Show

The Sports Cards and Collectibles Show will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Orland Park Civic Center, 14750 S. Ravinia Ave.

The show will feature NASCAR, Hot Wheels, memorabilia, autographed items and more. Admission is $1.
