Mokena man charged with having sex with girl, 16

MOKENA — A parolee has been arrested for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old girl.

Cmdr. Dan Rankovich said Gary B. Neff, 39, rented a room about three months ago at a residence on Glennell Avenue.

“On Sunday, the resident learned from another relative that Neff had been involved with her daughter and contacted police,” Rankovich said. “The victim was interviewed and admitted there had been consensual sexual contact on at least 10 occasions.”

Sixteen is under the age of consent in Illinois.

Brought in for questioning Sunday afternoon, Neff reportedly declined to answer any questions. He was arrested on a charge of aggravated criminal sexual abuse and booked into the county jail.

The Department of Corrections reports Neff has been on parole since June 2010 from a nine-year sentence for narcotics delivery and cannabis delivery in Will County.
