Man gets probation for sex with 13-year-old in Mokena

JOLIET — A Tinley Park man will spend the next two years on probation for having sex with a 13-year-old girl at a Mokena park, court records show.
David J. Potter, 20, pleaded guilty to aggravated criminal sexual abuse Wednesday. In addition to the probation, Will County Judge Daniel Rozak ordered Potter to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
Police said Potter met his victim over the summer at a local roller rink, and they had consensual sex in October.
Her parents learned about the encounter in November and called police. They supported Wednesday’s plea agreement.
