Homewood-Flossmoor High School psychologist Jennifer Schultz recently was awarded the Illinois School Psychologists Association’s Presidential Award at the ISPA’s annual state conference in Itasca.
Schultz received the award based on her work with the organization during the past six years, which has included serving as a regional director; starting an email database for high school practitioners; leading a credentialing task force; completing public-policy training in Washington, D.C.; and creating a local association of South Suburban school psychologists that meets frequently during the school year.
Schultz also was elected to be the ISPA secretary for the next three years during the conference.
“Jennifer is the consummate of a professional. She has leadership skills and works with a collaborative style,” said Stacey Rubin, director of special education. “Homewood-Flossmoor is fortunate to have her in our professional family.”
Schultz has earned degrees from Eastern Illinois University and Lewis University. She has worked at Homewood-Flossmoor for the past three school years, where she is also a director of the Operation Snowball program and co-facilitator of the Peer Tutoring program.
“While young in her career, Jennifer has quickly established herself as someone willing to do what is necessary at an extremely high level to help the students of Homewood-Flossmoor High School,” said principal Ryan Pitcock. “She is a tireless worker possessing a high talent level.”
