Tim Williams, a 6-foot-7 forward, garnered All-Area football honors as quarterback.

He routinely has recorded double-double performances in points and rebounds this season with Homewood-Flossmoor basketball.

After much debate, he has decided to play basketball in college.

Why hoops and not football at the next level?

I just think I will enjoy basketball a lot more. Not that I don’t love football, but at the collegiate level I’d like to play basketball.

What did playing football teach you about the basketball season?

To stay focused, be intense and not take anyone for granted.

What are the benefits of being a multisport athlete?

You always have a competitive edge. I love high school football and the atmosphere. I love high school basketball, too. I couldn’t, and wouldn’t give either one up.

You’re on a deserted island. You can have an endless supply of one food. What would it be?

A Beggars pizza or Snickers.

State title game. You’re in it. What team do you want to beat most for the championship? Why?

Naperville Central. They knocked us out of the playoffs in football. It would be nice to get a little revenge.

If you could have your pick, what celebrity would you choose as your prom date?

Megan Fox.

Given the chance, what person, dead or alive, would you most like to meet? Why?

Martin Luther King. He was an inspirational person and changed the world.

What’s the biggest goal for this season?

To have a chance to play for the state championship.

What’s the key to meeting that goal?

Stay focused and play together. We can’t be selfish.
