H-F student takes Best of Show at Prairie State

Every winter, art students who attend high schools within the Prairie State College district — Beecher, Bloom, Bloom Trail, Rich Central, Rich East and Homewood-Flossmoor — are invited to submit entries in various media for a juried art exhibit.
More than half of the participants in this year’s competition were from Homewood-Flossmoor High School, and more than half of the awards presented during the artists’ reception were given to H-F students.
Homewood-Flossmoor High School student Amy Donkel was awarded Best of Show for her sculpture “Frocked and Feathered.”
Other honored H-F students included Taylor Anderson (Best of Graphic Design); DiJonnae Morgan (Best Photography); Maddie Wiens (Best of Drawing); Samantha Flory (Merit); Kelly Nelson (Merit); and Ayah Dominguez (Merit).
Other exhibiting H-F students included Leigh Reid, Montana Sandstrom, Broc Thompson, Sarah Armstrong, Jordan Giffney, Heaven Allen, Katherine Bransky, Zhamese Mead and Kailah Simmons.
Other exhibiting H-F students included James McCoyne, Adam Lundquist, Suzanne Bush, Richard Dunn, Alejandro Munoz, Rachael Guenter, Delaney Perl, Jayla Neely, Carlton Lewis and Isabeau Belisle-Dempsey.
