Here is a look at what Southlanders are accomplishing in college.
News from the SouthtownStar’s East region includes Crete, Beecher, Homewood, Flossmoor, South Chicago Heights, Country Club Hills, Matteson and Monee.
Bradley University
Russell Wallace Lawrence, Joseph Michael Gannuscio, Shambre Nicole Chambers and Briana Lanae Gordon, all of Crete, have each received a bachelor’s degree from Bradley University in Peoria, Ill.
Eastern Illinois Univ.
Kathleen M. Jacoby, of Beecher; and Jennifer R. Gorman, of Homewood; have each received a master’s degree from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston.
Emory University
Joel Dobben, of Flossmoor, has been named to the spring 2012 semester dean’s list at Emory University in Atlanta.
Illinois College
Jacob Tilton, of South Chicago Heights, has been inducted into Delta Mu Delta, a national honor society in business. Tilton is a student at Illinois College in Jacksonville, Ill.
Lacey Wilson, of Crete, has been awarded the Raymond L. Gillmore II Memorial Scholarship, which is awarded to an outstanding sophomore majoring in history. Wilson also is a student at Illinois College.
Olivet Nazarene Univ.
Several area students have been named to the spring 2012 semester dean’s list at Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Ill.

Alexandra Corbett and Daniel Knuth, both of Beecher, have each been named to the spring 2012 semester dean’s list at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
