Payson Wick, a 6-foot-4, 290-pound senior, anchors the Vikings offensive line.
If Homewood-Flossmoor football is going to upend Lincoln-Way East on Friday night, Wick and his linemates will have to produce time and space for the offense to execute the game plan.
What’s in your iPod?
Some Kanye West, Carly Rae Jepsen and Rockie Fresh (H-F alum).
State title game. You’re in it. What team would you most like to beat for the championship? Why?
Lincoln-Way East. We’ve never beat them before and I want to beat them.
You’re on a deserted island. You could have an endless supply of one food. What would it be?
A T-bone steak.
What person, dead or alive, would you most like to meet? Why?
Bill Gates. He’s worth like $50 billion. Maybe he’d give me a few million.
Ten years from now, when you’re talking about coach Craig Buzea, what’s the first thing that will come to mind?
Expecting perfection.
What’s been the best part about being a student-athlete at H-F?
The responsibility the school puts on me and the leadership qualities it’s given me.
If you could have your pick, what celebrity would you choose as your prom date?
Betty White.
That’s a first. Nothing against 90-year-old women, but why Betty White?
Because it’s Betty White.
What do you do better than anybody?
Being stubborn.
If Hollywood were to make a movie about you, what actor would you want to play you?
Channing Tatum. The girls love him.
As told to Pat Disabato
