Several Hillcrest High School DECA students recently participated in the 11th annual Chicago Bulls Career Day at the United Center in Chicago.
During the event, six members of the Chicago Bulls business operations team discussed their career development process, where they attended college and how they were fortunate to land a dream job with a major athletic team. They also answered students’ questions related to job searching and what elements they like least and best about their positions.
Jenna Quinn, account executive of sponsorship, implored the students to network as much as they can throughout school and their personal lives and to take advantage of any available internships.
“I enjoyed the executives taking time to talk to us and explain what it took and takes to be in the business world,” junior Indya Williams said. “It taught me that if you want something in life you have to work for it and take it; it doesn’t just come to you.
“You have to take the necessary steps to get to where you want to be in the business world. I am very thankful for this opportunity and I appreciate everything the DECA program does for us.”
