Students from the DECA, entrepreneurship, web design and accounting classes at Hillcrest High School in Country Club Hills recently participated in the AT&T Job Shadow and Aspire Mentor Program at the AT&T corporate headquarters in Hoffman Estates.
Students learned about the lives and work of several AT&T executives and participated in real-life, project-based activities in which they solved problems in a team setting.
AT&T mentors also took student groups on tours of the facility and highlighted worldwide teleconferencing rooms, as well as the perks of working at AT&T corporate headquarters such as a workout facility, beauty shop and massage spa.
“This job shadow has helped me decide what types of careers I may look into, and it was good to ask the mentors questions about where they started,” junior DECA student Diavontay Elliot said.
