The H-F Racquet and Fitness Club, 2920 W. 183rd St., Homewood, is holding registration for its annual Indoor Triathlon Feb. 22 and 23.

Participants can compete as an individual or as a relay team. For the first time in the event’s history, participants also can compete in two heats of the Indoor Triathlon, a Double Challenge, for the Indoor Iron Championship.

Each participant will start with a 10-minute swim in the club’s 25-yard pool, with the distance recorded in 25-yard increments. There will be a 10-minute transition to the bike portion, which has athletes riding an upright bike for 20 minutes (with resistance factored into the overall distance). Participants then will have five minutes to transition to the final segment - a 15-minute run or walk on treadmills.

“The Indoor Triathlon and Double Challenge follow the club’s history of providing outstanding health/fitness and sports opportunities for everyone,” club officials said in a news release.

Awards will be given for eight age groups, ranging from 15 to 80 and older. The top three overall male and female athletes will receive awards, as will the top three in each age group, the top three Double Challenge winners and the top three relay teams.

Preregistration runs through Feb. 15, after which fees will increase by $10. Registration ends Feb. 21.
