Hillcrest High School business students recently had the opportunity to listen to a presentation on digital safety.
Sarah Migas, Internet safety specialist from Illinois office of the Attorney General helped students understand the risks they take every time they log on to their technology.
“It was interesting to hear about the different ways the government tracks pedophiles and knows where you post or take pictures,” freshmen Jonathan Neal said.
“The purpose of bringing Migas in was to let the students hear it from an expert,” business teacher Amber Guzak said.
“We can tell them until we’re blue in the face how dangerous technology can be, but today they were able to hear it firsthand from an expert.
“The students came up with very compelling questions for her and seemed to really enjoy the presentation.”
