Jovan Mooring, of Hillcrest, is the Beggars Pizza/SouthtownStar Boys Basketball Player of the Week.
Mooring, a 6-foot-2 senior, scored 28 points to lead Hillcrest to a 70-60 win over Lemont. The win assured the Hawks of winning the South Suburban Blue title outright. Mooring is averaging 18.4 points and converting 81 percent of his free-throw attempts.
