H-F racquet club’s triathlon winners announced

The H-F Racquet & Fitness Club announced the winners of its fourth Indoor Triathlon and its first Double Challenge/Iron Championship that took place last month.
Fifty-five people ages 15 to 63 participated in the event from Feb. 22 to 23. Eight took part in the double challenge.
The events included a 10-minute swim, followed by a 20-minute bike ride and a 15-minute walk/run. Those in the double challenge did the circuit twice.
Top finishers in the indoor triathlon were Mark Higgins, of Tinley Park, for the men; and Kelly Higgins, of Tinley Park, for the women. Finishing in second place were Roger Nelson, of Flossmoor, and Debbie Conner, of Pennsylvania; and coming in third were Eric Zehnder, of Homewood; and Linda Vivona, of Chicago.
Top finishers for the double challenge were Nelson and Conner. Second and third places went to Gerry Perez, of Pennsylvania, and Dirk French, of Homewood.
This year’s competitors also broke some club records.
Mark Higgins and Joe Andersen, of Valparaiso, Ind., each set new records in swimming at 850 yards.
Kelly Higgins set a club biking record at 7.71 miles.
Meanwhile, in running, Jackson Waters, of New Lenox, set a record at 2.72 miles, and Conner set a record at 2.28 miles, according to a news release.
The club is part of the Homewood-Flossmoor Park District.
