H-F Park District offers dog adoption deal

Updated: May 8, 2013 6:05AM

The Homewood-Flossmoor Park District is taking a cue from Homewood Mayor Rich Hofeld and his initiative to increase dog adoptions in the area.

Through July 31, the park district will offer a $10 discount off an annual Rover’s Run Dog Park membership for new dog owners who bring in adoption papers along with the other required Rover’s Run documents. This offer is available only to owners of newly adopted dogs.

Rover’s Run is a membership-only dog park regulated by Cook County.

Requirements are that dogs are friendly, fully immunized, de-wormed, licensed and wearing tags.

The annual membership fees to Rover’s Run are $25 for residents and $37.50 for nonresidents. Membership for each additional dog is $5.

Registration forms are available at the Goldberg Center, Irwin Center and online at hfparks.com. Applications must be signed by a veterinarian, and include a copy of the dog’s current vaccination record.

Rover’s Run is located in Apollo Park near the 191st Street entrance, three blocks east of Center Avenue in Homewood. For more information, call (708) 957-0300.
