Lineup set for H-F summer concert series

Updated: July 10, 2013 6:07AM

The Homewood-Flossmoor Park District will bring a summer of free musical entertainment to the band shell at Irwin Park, at Ridge Road and Highland Avenue in Homewood.

The “Starry Nights” concert series, now in its 27th year, will feature three shows: Final Say on June 13, The Dancing Noodles on June 27, and Spoken Four on July 25.

The H-F Community Band will open for the June performances, and 2012 Homewood Idol winner Phallon Boyd will open the July concert. Opening acts will perform at 7 p.m., and headline entertainment will begin at 8 p.m.

If the weather prevents a concert from being held outdoors, the performance will be at the park district’s auditorium, 2010 Chestnut St.

Admission to the concerts is free. Food, soft drinks and alcohol will be sold throughout the series.

The events also are smoke-free.
