The four recipients of the 2013 Joseph Caldarone Memorial Scholarship were announced recently by Leone D’Oro Lodge 2700 of the Order Sons of Italy in America.

Those honored were:

♦Madeline Benjamin, a graduate of Andrew High School in Tinley Park. She plans to become a doctor.

♦Toni-Marie Carco, a graduate of Romeoville High School. She plans to study nursing.

♦Christopher Harrison, a graduate of Lincoln-Way North High School in Frankfort. He will major in engineering.

♦Rachel Magnabosco, a graduate of Homewood-Flossmoor High School in Flossmoor. She will major in marketing.

The scholarships were awarded at the June monthly meeting of the Sons of Italy.

Dinner was served, and each scholarship recipient read his or her winning essay on Italian heritage had impacted his or her life.
