Area TRIAD meeting
People ages 50 and older who live in the area may attend the Manhattan-New Lenox TRIAD’s monthly meeting at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the New Lenox Police Department training room, 701 W. Haven Ave., New Lenox. Call (815) 485-2500.
Manhattan and New Lenox police representatives will speak on “Crime Prevention for Your Home and Car.”
No registration or membership is required to attend TRIAD meetings.
Homer Township Chamber of Commerce’s Community Expo & Health Fair will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Hadley School, 15731 Bell Road, Homer Glen.
The free event includes the Lemont Classic Car Club Show, free Amber Alert-approved children’s identification kits, various free health screenings and a children’s craft area from 10 a.m. to noon.

Thornton Township’s Taste
The Taste of Thornton Township will take place from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at 333 E. 162nd St., South Holland.
The Intruders will sing their hits including “Cowboys to Girls,” “(We’ll Be) United,” “When We Get Married,” “I’ll Always Love My Mama” and “I Wanna Know Your Name” at 5 p.m.

Family, Fun, & Fitness Fair
This free event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Don Preston Recreation Center, 14500 S. Kostner Ave., Midlothian.
All activities are free. Attendees will be entered in two prize raffles at 11:45 a.m. and 1:45 p.m.
