League of Women Voters addresses health coverage

The Homewood-Flossmoor Area League of Women Voters recently held a program on the health marketplace in Illinois, known as “GetCoveredIllinois.”
Presenters included Jennifer Artis, director of public affairs for St. James Hospital and Health Centers; Ireatha Jones, lead in-person counselor for the Southland Health Care Forum; Tiffany Hill, the Region 5 coordinator for Gov. Pat Quinn’s office; and Sakina Tayebali, representative from Get Covered America.
The presenters focused on what the Affordable Care Act means for the citizens of Illinois.
The official health marketplace in the state is GetCoveredIllinois, and it can be accessed online at the website getcoveredillinois.gov.
