The Irons Oaks Foundation will host the sixth annual Holiday Gift Extravaganza from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 7 at the Irons Oaks Environmental Learning Center, 20000 Western Ave., Olympia Fields.

More than a dozen artisans and vendors with one-of-a-kind wares will be available for shopping. Activities for children ages 3 to 12 will be held during shopping hours.

Raffle prizes and light refreshments will be available. The foundation will sell $10 tickets for its yearlong raffle.

The foundation is requesting a $5 donation for admission or three nonperishable food items for the Respond Now Food Pantry. One free raffle ticket is included with a food donation. Patrons who become members of the Irons Oaks Foundation will receive an extra raffle ticket.

The Holiday Gift Extravaganza helps support the Irons Oaks Environmental Learning Center.

Irons Oaks, a joint project of the Homewood-Flossmoor and Olympia Fields park districts, is a 40-acre nature preserve that serves more than 40,000 individuals annually through community events, environmental education programs, and corporate and professional development initiatives.

Habitat restoration efforts in the park, with its unique combination of oak and hickory forest, flood plain and marsh wetland, and tall grass prairie environments, help to protect the plant and animal species native to our region.
