The H-F Racquet & Fitness Club, 2920 W. 183rd St., Homewood, will conclude its 40th anniversary year with Community Open House days and special membership offers from Dec. 28 through 2 p.m. Dec. 31.
The celebration is to give back to the communities of Homewood and Flossmoor for their support of the club and the H-F Park District.
The open house days include free access to the club, including the fitness center, group fitness classes and the 40-Love Lounge and locker rooms.
For those 18 and older, the free days include use of the pool, including aquacize classes and the whirlpools and steam rooms. There is a fee for court time and child care.
There will be no racquet sports guest fees through Jan. 1. Court fees still will apply.
Since its opening in 1973, the club has expanded three times. The facility consists of a 12,000-square-foot fitness center, including an indoor track; more than 50 pieces of up-to-date cardio equipment, a free weight area, and a group fitness studio for its more than 40 classes.
It also houses 10 indoor tennis courts, racquetball and basketball courts, a four-lane lap pool, a private Pilates personal training studio, and upscale amenities, including locker rooms with towel service, steam rooms, whirlpools and a members lounge. It offers personal training, group and private lessons, special adult and youth programs and programs for special-needs students.
Voted the Southland’s top health/sports club for many years, and the Chicago District Tennis Association and Chicago Tennis Patrons Facility of the Year, the club has a goal to maintain its position as one of the finest racquet and fitness clubs in the country while providing exceptional service every day to its members and guests, according to a press release from the club.
The club is a facility of the Homewood-Flossmoor Park District, a two-time National Gold Medal Award Winner for Excellence in Park and Recreation Management.
