Homewood-Flossmoor Community High School District 233 annually offers a summer program that teaches the rules of the road to students in the district. Summer driver education for this year will run from June 5 to July 1, according to a press release from the district.
Registration for behind-the-wheel instruction only begins from 3:30 to 5 p.m. March 18 in the south building cafeteria of the school, 999 Kedzie Ave., Flossmoor. This registration is for students who have completed the classroom portion of the program and only need behind-the-wheel training this summer. The behind-the-wheel fee is $100.
Registration for behind-the-wheel and classroom begins from 3:30 to 5 p.m. March 19, also in the south building cafeteria. There is a $75 classroom fee in addition to the $100 behind-the-wheel fee.
For both programs, students must be age 16 before Nov. 1, 2014, and must be residents of District 233. Driving time slots are limited, so participants are registered on a first-come, first-served basis, according to the release. Payment can be made by cash, check, credit card or money order made out to HFHS.
