Program aims to boost professional women

Updated: May 1, 2014 6:09AM

The Professional Women’s Network will host the Lisa Bloom program, “Think — Straight Talk for Women to Stay Smart in a Dumbed-Down World,” to be presented by Jennifer Brosius on April 10 in Flossmoor.

The program will outline specific steps to allow women to reclaim their brains, regain focus and take charge of their lives, according to a press release about the event.

Brosius is a certified public accountant and has been working in public and corporate accounting for five years.

“Women who attend this program will find that they leave with a better understanding of how our culture and the media are negatively affecting women today,” Brosius said in the release. “The topics that will be discussed apply to women of all ages, in all stages of their careers. The discussion will cause you to wake up and regain focus on the important things in life. You’ll leave feeling inspired and want to talk to your daughter, mother, neighbors and friends about the changes you will make going forward.”

Participants should check in at 5:30 p.m. at the Pub Room of Flossmoor Station, 1035 Sterling Ave., Flossmoor.

Admission for Professional Women’s Network members is free, and it’s $10 for nonmembers. All participants are responsible for their own meals and beverages.
