Tinley Park trustees have given tentative approval for a $4 million incentive agreement to a local auto dealership.
The 10-year agreement with Kowalis Motors Inc. would allow for a multimillion-dollar renovation project at Orland Toyota/Scion, 8505 W. 159th Street. The remodeling effort is mandated by the dealership’s franchise agreement with Toyota and is projected to generate $10 million in new taxable sales annually.
The sales tax sharing agreement between the village and Kowalis is expected to generate as much as $2.5 million in additional sales tax revenue for the village over the life of the agreement. Kowalis is also expected to add eight new jobs.
