Eighth-grade students at Forest Trail School recently completed a problem-solving unit in their World Studies Explore classes that resulted in a $900 donation to the Rich Township Food Pantry.

After researching several social problems and discussing these issues with classmates, World Studies students chose the food pantry as the recipient of funds they raised at school through the sale of snacks and tickets to a staff/student basketball game.

In receiving the donation, Vicky Sline, director of the Rich Township Food Pantry, thanked the students and noted that their donation would support the pantry as it helps 1,000 families per month.
