Young graduates basic training

Air Force Airman Bridgette K. Young graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.

Young is the daughter of Melanie McCormick, of Cedar Lake, Ind., and the granddaughter Marilyn Young, of Park Forest. She is a 2011 graduate of Crete Monee High School.

Yanz sworn into National Guard

Victor Yanz, of Chicago, recently was sworn into the Illinois Army National Guard as a second lieutenant in the Judge Advocate General Corps at Camp Lincoln in Springfield.

Yanz graduated from Brother Rice High School in Chicago in 2000 and received a bachelor’s degree in 2004 from Cornell University in Ithaca N.Y.

Yanz received his law degree from the Wisconsin University of Law in 2009 and is an assistant state’s attorney with the Cook County’s state attorney’s office.

Drayton receives Navy promotion

Navy Seaman Tarell A. Drayton recently was promoted to his current rank upon graduation from recruit training at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Ill.

Drayton is the son of Jermaine Drayton, of Harvey. He is a 2011 graduate of Rich Central High School in Olympia Fields.

Hilson completes basic training

Navy Seaman Recruit Javius J. Hilson recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Ill.

Hilson is the son of Lacosta Butcher, of Dolton. He is a 2011 graduate of Thornridge High School in South Holland.
