Richton Park recently hosted its Stress Less Workshop for women. The event was presented by the village’s community relations director, Vera Brooks, and Ingalls Behavior Healthcare facilitator Felicia Houston.
The workshop centered on the education of stress awareness and management. Houston gave attendees stress tests.
“As women we have a lot going on in our lives, but we have to take time for ourselves,” Houston said.
Other organizations represented at the event include Holistic Harmony, Ingalls Hospital, Chiro One Wellness Centers and Dance Expressions.
Ladies who attended the free event were treated to wellness information, free massages, a 20-minute Zumba workout, holistic breathing exercises, heart screenings and giveaways. Brooks and her team served chocolate covered strawberries, cheese and crackers, Fanny Mae chocolates and champagne.
The village’s Community Relations Department will hold similar events throughout the year.
