BASEBALL

South Holland: The Illinois Mavericks 18u team is looking for pitchers and a first baseman to fill out its travel team that will compete in six weekend tournaments throughout the season. Information: Jovan Martin, (312) 714-5472 or Mel Garcia, (630) 886-7287.

BASKETBALL

Flossmoor: The H-F Racquet and Fitness Club is offering basketball lessons for boys and girls ages 7 to 16. Classes are 30 minutes each and are offered from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays. Three sessions will be held: session two runs from July 9 to 18 and session three from July 30 to August 8. Fee: $60. Information:

South Holland: South Suburban College will host its championship basketball camps, with a skills camp running from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday to Thursday. The camps are for boys and girls ages 7 to 17. CHEERLEADING

Glenwood: The Glenwood Cougars cheerleading/pom squads, for kids ages 5 to 14 that aren’t entering high school in the fall, will hold registration from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 7 and from 6 to 8 p.m. July 30 and Aug. 3 at the Hickory Glen Fieldhouse, 192nd Street and Minerva, Glenwood. Hazel Crest: The Hazel Crest Mustangs will have registration from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. the first and third Saturday of each month until fall at the Hazel Crest Park District, 2600 W. 171st St. Information: Java Rogers, (708) 560-1194.

FOOTBALL

Glenwood: The Glenwood Cougars football program, for players ages 5 to 14 that aren’t entering high school in the fall, will hold registration from
11 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 7 and from 6 to
8 p.m. July 30 and Aug. 3 at the Hickory Glen Fieldhouse, 192nd Street and Minerva, Glenwood. Fee: $270 and a $50 refundable equipment charge for new players; $220 and a $50 refundable equipment charge for returning players. Information: Doreen Davis, (708) 257-7523 or www.glenwoodcougars.org.

Southland: Registration is now open for the new Chicago Southland Youth Football League. GOLF

Southland: The Hillcrest High School athletic department will hold its annual Golf with the Pros outing Friday at Ravisloe Country Club, 18231 S. Park Ave., Homewood. Registration will begin at 11:30 a.m. and tee-off is set for 1:30 p.m. Several current and former professional athletes are expected to participate. Crete: The second annual Crete Bulldogs golf outing is set for July 29 at Lincoln Oaks Golf Course. Registration begins at noon with a shotgun start set for 1 p.m. Fees: $100 (includes lunch and dinner) per golfer; $30 for dinner only. Proceeds will go to the Crete Bulldogs football and cheerleading program, with a goal of developing Dunlap Field. Southland: The Chicago Attitude women’s fastpitch softball team, in the Hegewisch area, is seeking serious-minded experienced, current or former college players ages 20 or older willing to play in four to five weekend tournaments from June through August.
