Rich East High School senior India Borjas recently found an old envelope that fell out of the back of a clothes dresser in her room.

She opened it and found an 8-by-10 photo from 1957 of an elementary classroom and several team photos from a Little League program.

The name, John Terandy, was on the envelope.

Borjas and Rich East teacher Don Hagemaster immediately went to work to locate John Terandy.

They eventually reached Doug Terandy, who was the boy in the photo and who was delighted to learn of the lost photos.

John, they learned, was Doug’s 90-year-old father. Borjas made contact with Doug Terandy and mailed the photos to him, returning treasured memories to a father and son.
