U.S. Bank has named Jessica Hayward, of Park Forest, as one of 40 college students chosen to receive a $1,000 U.S. Bank scholarship.
Hayward was selected from more than 150,000 students throughout the country who applied for the U.S. Bank Scholarship Program.
Hayward, a graduate of Bloom Township High School, has participated in a variety of activities including concert choir, gospel choir, drama club, student council and Soul Children of Chicago.
Hayward will attend Grambling State University in Grambling, La., where she intends to pursue a degree in social work.
“We would like to congratulate our 2012 U.S. Bank Scholarship Program winners,” said Erica Opstad from U.S. Bank.
“With the cost of tuition increasing and financial aid sources decreasing, we are proud to provide this opportunity for students,” Opstad said.
