Job hunters to gather

The Chicago Southland Job Hunters Network will meet at 10 a.m. Aug. 7 at Bootsma Bookstore Cafe, 6513 W. 123rd St., Palos Heights, on the campus of Trinity Christian College.

Free workshops on starting a business
CenterPoint — the small-business development center at Governors State University — will offer free workshops focusing on the personal, financial and legal aspects of starting a business.
Participants will also learn about what resources are available to assist new business owners.
One will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 1 at the Richton Park Community Center, 4455 Sauk Trail, and a second will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 20 at Old Plank Trail Bank, 20901 S. LaGrange Road, Frankfort.
