BASEBALL
Southland: Hickory Hills Baseball is holding tryouts for its 16U travel team, which begins its season following the conclusion of the high school season, at 2 p.m. Saturday and Sept. 9 at 9830 S. 76th Ave. Information: Email Joe Marrotta, jmarrotta@hhyb.org.
BASKETBALL
Southland: The Windy City Magic are conducting tryouts for boys in seventh and eighth grades at 10 a.m. Sept. 9 at the Orland Park Sportsplex and at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 10 at 7703 Steger Road, Frankfort. Information: www.windycitymagic.org.
DIVING
Flossmoor: The Fall I session of diving classes for Viking Diving Club runs from Wednesday to Oct. 8 for beginner, intermediate and advanced divers. FISHING
Southland: A Fall Fishing Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 29 at the Alden Estates of Orland Park’s fully-stocked fishing pond at 16450 S. 97th Ave. Admission is free; just bring your pole. Information: (708) 403-6500.
GOLF
Southland: The South Suburban College baseball team is hosting the fourth annual Bulldog Baseball Golf Outing on Sept. 14 at Glenwoodie Golf Course, 193rd and State Street, Glenwood. SOFTBALL
Crete: Registration is open for Crete Park District’s fall softball leagues. Mens leagues are available on Tuesday or Wednesday nights and the women’s league meets Thursdays. Games are played at Heritage Park, 1550 Sangamon St. Games begin Tuesday. Fee: $460. Information: Andy, (708) 672-6996.
VOLLEYBALL
Southland: Attack Volleyball Club will host tryouts for its new program, Counter Attack, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday at Palos South Middle School, 13100 S 82nd Ave, Palos Park. WRESTLING
Chicago Heights: The Spartan Elite Wrestling Club will hold practices for kids in kindergarten to 8th grade from 5 to 7 p.m. Sept. 16, 19, 23 and 28 at Marian Catholic High School.
