‘Reclaim the Prairie’ event to be held at GSU

The Nathan Manilow Sculpture Park at Governors State University is looking for volunteers to help during its “Reclaim the Prairie!” restoration event at 1 p.m. Nov. 11 at the school, 1 University Parkway, University Park.
The event will begin in the university’s cafeteria annex with a short introduction on prairie restoration by Kavin Barto, the school’s superintendent of grounds. Participants will then fan out in a specified area of the sculpture part to harvest and then sow prairie seed.
Hot cider and pumpkin squares will be served after seeding. Reservations are requested. Information: (708) 534-3084.
