Matteson, Park Forest police blotter

MATTESON

DUI ARREST: Justin Woodson, 30, 17117 Whittier St., Hazel Crest, was charged with drunken driving and no insurance after an Oct. 25 stop at Vollmer Road and Cicero Avenue, police said.

MUGGING: A 19-year-old Gary man told police that four or five teenagers attacked him Oct. 26 at Dartmouth Avenue and Cornell Way, punching and kicking him multiple times before removing his Air Jordan shoes and fleeing by car.

DUI CHARGE: Tracie Brown, 38, 15038 Dorchester Ave., Apt. 2W, Dolton, was charged with drunken driving, no insurance and improper parking on a roadway after police found her sleeping at the wheel Oct. 27 at Cicero Avenue and Towncenter Drive, police said.

THEFT: A Park Forest woman told police a man stole about $350 in cash out of her hands when she was counting the money in a friend’s pickup truck Oct. 27 at a gas station in the 4700 block of West U.S. 30, police said. They said a juvenile who entered the truck and rifled through the glove box was arrested, but the older man fled the scene.

VANDALISM: Windows on two cars were shattered Oct. 28 in the Metra station parking lot, 3500 North St. Nothing was stolen from either vehicle.

PARK FOREST

BURGLARY: A hot water heater, furnace, stove, refrigerator and copper piping were stolen between Oct. 2 and 19 from a vacant house in the 200 block of Allegheny Street.

VEHICLE BURGLARY: An underwater digital camera and miscellaneous change were stolen Oct. 17 or 18 from an unlocked vehicle in the 200 block of Monee Road.

CAR BURGLARY: A cellphone and car charger were stolen Oct. 18 from an unlocked car in the 200 block of Nauvoo Street.

HOME BURGLARY: A TV and an unknown amount of costume jewelry were stolen Oct. 18 from a residence in the first block of Monee Road.

HOME BURGLARY: A video game system, TV, laptop computer and laptop charging cord were stolen Oct. 18 from a home in the 300 block of Manitowac Street.

TRUCK BURGLARY: A GPS system was stolen Oct. 18 from an unlocked truck in the 100 block of Miami Street.

PROPERTY DAMAGE: A 12-year-old Richton Park boy was arrested for breaking a window Oct. 19 at Grace United Church, 266 Somonauk St., police said.

MARIJUANA CHARGE: Ryan Reposa, 26, of Plainfield, was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and improper lane use after a stop Oct. 19 at Western Avenue and Indianwood Boulevard, police said.

PROPERTY DAMAGE: A window was broken Oct. 19 or 20 at Congregation Am Echad, 160 Westwood Drive.

WINDOW BROKEN: A window was broken between Oct. 19 and 23 at a residence at 228 Arcadia St.

DOMESTIC BATTERY: Andre L. Hobbs, 24, 211 N. Orchard Drive, Park Forest, was charged with domestic battery after an Oct. 21 disturbance outside his home, police said.

BATTERY: David A. Cherry, 26, of Country Club Hills, was charged with battery Oct. 21 after an altercation in the 200 block of Allegheny Street.

HOME BURGLARY: A video game system was stolen and a window was shattered Oct. 22 at a residence in the 400 block of Sandburg Street.

HOME BURGLARY: Rashad Mayfield, 18, 121 Blackhawk Drive, and Benjamin Butowski, 22, 160 Nanti St., both of Park Forest, were charged with residential burglary Oct. 22 in the first block of Monee Road, police said. They said Mayfield was also charged with aggravated fleeing and eluding police and possession of marijuana, and Butowski was charged with resisting police.

BURGLARY: A water meter and copper pipe were stolen at an unknown time from a vacant residence in the first block of Marquette Street.
