Student council members at Rich South High School, along with six other schools, recently attended the North East District Hospitality Night at Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire.
The three-hour event featured a “Hunger Games” theme and had the students break into districts and quickly form a cohesive team.
Each team had to create a unique district-related cheer and a fundraiser from a blindly selected item, and then present that idea.
After dinner, the teams had to construct a free-standing structure from spaghetti, string and tape.
“Many new friendships were (formed), new ideas generated and new networks … forged,” school officials said in a news release. “This event can only get bigger and better over time, leading to bigger and better things in Rich South’s own student government.”
