A 19-year-old Park Forest man is facing felony charges for sexually assaulting a 16-month-old boy he was babysitting, prosecutors said.
Lamont A. Fleming, 110 Algonquin St., was charged with predatory criminal sexual assault Nov. 20. Judge Darron Bowden set Fleming’s bail at $500,000, and he is next due in court Dec. 11 at the Markham Courthouse.
According to court records, Fleming was babysitting the child at his home Nov. 19. He removed the baby’s diaper and sexually assaulted him before putting the diaper on and rocking him back to sleep.
When a witness arrived at Fleming’s house and noticed there was blood inside the baby’s diaper, the witness asked what happened and Fleming said he didn’t do anything, prosecutors said. The baby was taken to the hospital where doctors determined the baby had suffered a sexual assault, and they contacted police, prosecutors said.
