More than two dozen students at Rich East High School in Park Forest who are part of the school’s Pro-Start program recently shared their baking skills and holiday confections with Rocket Alpha students.
The students baked dozens of treats, such as a gingerbread house, to share with students and staff.
“It was just a great way for the Pro-Start students to learn how to make these gingerbread houses and other baked goodies and also give our students and staff a treat,” said Mark Crawford, a local chef and a Rich East teacher and sponsor of the Pro-Start program.
Participating students included Leanna Beeks, Grady Bouie, Jac Quel Copeland, Heather DeValk, Jaylen Dortch, Antonette Flowers, Yazmine Gardner, Kevin Givhan, Taylor Gunby, Luke Hering, Jamal Hinton and Tiffani Hollis.
Other participating students included Diondre Jones, June Knox, Jerome LeSure, Mirissa Martin, Jenika McCullor, Larry Neuman, Monique Ocanas, Cortez Odom, Patrick O’Leary, Daniel Stewart, Reuben Turner, Michael Williams and Gavin Winston.
