Here is a look at upcoming concerts.
Events include “The Voice! A Celebration in Song” on Jan. 13 at the Center for Performing Arts at Governors State University in University Park and A Rod Stewart Concert Experience on Jan. 12 at the Beverly Arts Center in Chicago.

This series will continue with “The Voice! A Celebration in Song” at 4 p.m. Jan. 13 at the Center for Performing Arts at Governors State University, off University Parkway east of Governors Highway, University Park.
“Quite simply, this will be an afternoon to revel in the beauty and power of the voice,” officials said.
“In a program that spans the operatic and musical theater repertoire, four world-class singers will perform songs, arias and ensembles from your favorite operas and Tony Award-winning musicals from ‘The Barber of Seville’ to ‘West Side Story’ and everything in between.
“(There will be) seduction, jealousy, humor and the triumph of love.”
“Bringing this music to life are Rachel Holzhausen (soprano), Yvette Smith (mezzo-soprano), John Concepcion (tenor) and Michael Cavalieri (baritone).
“If you’re looking to lose the midwinter blues, spend an afternoon up close with some glorious voices.”
Viennese pastries and coffee will be offered during this intimate performance on the Center for Performing Arts’ stage.

Chicago pianist Richard Sladek will present “Fascinatin’ Rhythm: From Ragtime to Rap,” a free concert, from 2-3 p.m. Jan. 13 at the Oak Lawn Public Library, 9427 S. Raymond Ave.
“(This) eclectic program is sure to feature something for everyone,” officials said.
“Concert selections will feature the George Gershwin songbook as well as Scott Joplin, Dick Hyman and Billy Joel.

Steve Bobbitt and the Young Turks will perform A Rod Stewart Concert Experience at 8 p.m. Jan. 12 at the Beverly Arts Center, 2407 W. 111th St., Chicago.
“This tribute band brings to the stage the look, sound, energy and star-appeal music of Rod Stewart,” officials said.
Tickets are $19 or $16 for center members.
