Sertoma Centre said Tuesday it will close its Good as New Thrift Store and Training Center, 4331 Lincoln Highway, Matteson, on Feb. 1.
Alsip-based Sertoma, which provides services for developmentally disabled people, said in a news release the store has “not met certain goals and objectives” despite efforts to increase sales and reduce operating expenses.
Sertoma said the closing will allow the nonprofit to refocus its resources on additional programs and services for its client base. The group said special discounts will be offered to clear inventory at the store, and that Sertoma staff will evaluate future uses for the site.
