A rental house on 216th Place was ransacked and heavily damaged Jan. 12 or 13, according to police.
The landlord told police that the prior tenant may have trashed the house in retaliation for being evicted on New Year’s Day. Police were looking for the tenant to question him.
Police said someone tore off the kitchen cabinets, scattered charcoal and paint on the carpets and turned on all the faucets after clogging the drains, causing extensive water damage to floors, ceilings, walls and carpet.
The landlord had requested extra police patrols by the house after the tenant threatened to “trash the place” if his family didn’t get back their security deposit immediately, police said.
