Forest Trail cross country teams capture conference crowns

The eighth grade girls and seventh grade boys cross country teams from Forest Trail School in Park Forest are the South Suburban Junior High School Association conference champions.
The eighth grade girls team included Janell Coulter, Lacrisha Davis, Mackenzie Ferrell, Stevie Fremouw, Tyshawna Jackson, Connie Sanner, Amari Simmons, Germela Smith and Makayla Wells.
The seventh grade boys team included Eric Allen, Vashawn Sims, Jeremiah Newsum, Jacarri Rogers, Terano McCann, Leon Lee and Devonte Haywood.
Val Valente coaches the eighth grade girls team and Travis Shepherd coaches the seventh grade boys team.
In girls cross country, Lacrisha Davis was the conference champion and Amari Simmons finished second. All-Conference performers among the seventh grade boys team were conference champion Eric Allen, Vashawn Sims with second place and Jeremiah Newsum with third place.
