GSU names interim VP of development

Governors State University has tapped a Bolingbrook man to be the school’s interim vice president of development.
William A. Davis will oversee philanthropic initiatives, and corporate and individual donations to the school.
Davis will serve on GSU President Elaine Maimon’s cabinet and be the interim CEO of the school’s fundraising arm.
Davis has been at GSU since April and was the school’s director of corporate and foundation relations.
Before going to GSU, Davis was the senior corporate relations officer for the American Cancer Society, Illinois Division, from 2009 to 2012. He has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Mount Union College, of Alliance, Ohio; a master’s from DePaul University School of Public Service; and a certificate in Project Management from DePaul University.
