Rich South High School’s show choir, Inspired Legacy, recently won the Grand Championship in the Unisex division at the South Dearborn Invitational competition.

Among the five winning selections were “Mad World,” “Superwoman,” and the combination performance of “Rumor Has It” and “Someone Like You.”

Dabrasha Dillard was named outstanding performer, and Ivory Jean Johnson was named outstanding female vocalist in their respective divisions.

Naja Gbala was recognized for her “ability to adapt with grace and poise” when two of her microphones failed during her performance of “End of Time.”

The show choir is directed by Terry Hudson, vocal music director at Rich South.

Inspired Legacy was scheduled to compete next at a national qualifying event, “Fame Chicago.”
