Thorn Creek Nature Center, 247 Monee Road, Park Forest, will hold a Make a Gourd Birdhouse Workshop for all ages March 2.
Participants may join one of two sessions: either from 1 to 2 p.m., or from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., according to a press release from the center.
Internationally known artist and Tall Grass Arts Association instructor Pat Moore will show participants how to create and paint a natural birdhouse from a gourd. There will be discussion about where to hang the birdhouse and the different cavity nesters that may visit it.
The cost is $10 per birdhouse, with a limit of one per person. Children under age 6 must be accompanied by an adult. All materials are provided.
