Governors State University’s college of education and Metropolitan Institute for Leadership in Education will sponsor two workshops for school and district office administrators and staff.
Speaker and educator Jennifer Abrams will present “Resilience, Emotional Intelligence, and Accountability,” a program which provides essential strategies and resources for meeting the challenges of working in schools and achieving academic and organizational outcomes, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. March 13, according to a press release about the workshops.
This workshop will assist leaders in developing interpersonal skills to better deal with the complex needs of their district, department or school and help those they lead to do the same, according to the release.
Kathleen Hickey will present “Creating a Turnaround Culture to Close the Achievement and Opportunity Gaps” from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. April 8 in GSU’s E-Lounge.
This workshop will help school leaders understand how effective turnaround strategies can create and sustain a culture of high expectations, the press release said.
The cost of the workshop is $20 per person, but teams of three or more from the same district can attend free.
Space is limited. To register, visit mileprograms.eventbrite.com or call (708) 534-4024.
