Here is a look at what Southlanders are accomplishing in college.
News from the SouthtownStar’s Central region includes Tinley Park, Frankfort, New Lenox, Mokena, Orland Hills, Orland Park, Oak Forest, Crestwood and Midlothian.
Eastern Illinois University
Adam Limanowski, of Tinley Park, has received the Graphic Design Recognition Award, which recognizes a graphic design student whose creative artwork demonstrates the awareness of good design. Limanowski is a student at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston.
Freed-Hardeman University
Connie Singleton, of Frankfort, has received a bachelor’s degree from Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, Tenn.
Furman University
Andrew Mueller, of Tinley Park, has been named to the spring 2012 semester dean’s list at Furman University in Greenville, S.C.
Harding University
Daniel Schliffka, of New Lenox, is among a group spending five weeks in Larbert, Scotland, assisting, observing and tutoring Scottish students. Schliffka is a student at Harding University in Searcy, Ark.
Southern Illinois University Edwardsville
Several area students have received a bachelor’s degree from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.

St. Xavier University
Sean Bryce, of Oak Forest, has received a bachelor’s degree from St. Xavier University in Chicago. Bryce is a graduate of Oak Forest High School.
